L'annonce de la récente version Oled pourrait nous laisser penser que la Steam Deck 2.0 soit déjà en développement et potentiellement proche d'une annonce, il n'en est rien, Valve persiste en affirmant que le développement d'une telle version nécessite encore du temps, 2 à 3 années supplémentaires.
Les raisons sont simples, d'une part Valve considère que son offre est plus intéressante que celles de ses concurrents (ASUS...) puisqu'il maitrise le système d'exploitation et la validation des jeux (4000 ont été vérifiés actuellement), là où la concurrence repose sur l'OS Windows et les drivers AMD et dans un second temps, Valve semble souhaiter que la nouvelle version permette une avancée significative en termes de technologies, sûrement une nouvelle génération d'APU.

So we’re thinking about Steam Deck 2 at all times, but I think we’re so satisfied here that this is really the kind of high end of what we wanted to do.”
